MAC Hue Lipstick with Boldly Bare Liner

I've been really experiementing with the smokey eye look lately and trying to find the ideal lipstick to balance out the look.  MAC's Hue lipstick is the perfect shade for this look and its very versatile depending on the liner you use - you can deepen it, make it work with pink liners or peach toned liners - its the perfect blending lipstick, but paired with a classic nude toned lipliner, its the ideal neutral lip for the smokey eye:

Makeup:

Basic Face - Mineral Fusion Foundation in Warm, NC 30 concealer, Bronzer, NARS Madly blush with MAC's Dame as a pop of colour

Eyes: Elizabeth Arden Sparking eyeshadow as base, Copperplate from lid to crease, Smolder eyeliner with Smut smudged into upper lashline (MAC), Voluminous mascara in carbon black

Lips: Boldly Bare lipliner with Hue Lipstick

Very natural, very sensual in an understated manner! I hope you don't mind me saying Renata, but looking back on all your past posts and pictures, you've really turned a corner, it's like now, everything you do is PERFECT, and it's wonderful to see you revelling in your own perfect beauty- it makes me realise how much our colours SUPPORT us- and to just plunge into them and fully accept ones full palette is something to behold!

What a wonderful compliment and feedback Sonia - Thank you so much - I really appreciate that! I think what is happening is that I'm finding myself within my season and also testing the bounderies a little bit - seeing what I can borrow from other seasons, which still keeping a warm, autumnal base - I've heard many times before that its more likely that there are hundreds of seasons not just 12 because we are all so unique - the palettes that we have now are a guideline, so I'm using my warm base and will be doing a lot of experiementation, trying to find that perfect balance - I'm so excited to embark on this new venture!

YES! YES! A thousand times YES! I totally 100% agree! I think a lot of people fear colour analysis because of the feared imprisonment within colour boudaries, but once a person finds their beauty through colour, they can then use colour KNOWINGLY which you have been demonstrating rather adeptly! In fact, I would go so far as to say that if a person takes their palette too seriously, they end up looking a bit of a caricature of that season, which isn't the worst thing in the world, obviously, but it still lacks something, that "je ne sais quoi" which is the hallmark of someone who has found their unique, true style. Anyway, needless to say, you are leading the way to a silent colour revolution, a veritable torch bearer if I ever saw one, and I am grateful that you are writing this blog, because I enjoy reading it so much more than any glossy magazine x

That means so much to me - thank you Sonia!!! I'm just trying to be myself and 'journal' my jouney so to speak - I'm so happy that you are grateful for what I'm doing! I agree with your comment about not taking the colour palette 'too' seriously - in fact, almost every analysist will and 'should' tell you that your palette is a 'guide' - but if you put something on that isn't in your palette and you like it and it looks good on you - go for it!!!
